I am looking for some one to tell me how to get better fuel economy. In the economic slump we are in I don't have the fuel money to drive my truck. 14 mpg is killing the wallet. It is the price you pay for owning a truck but there are much bigger truck out there getting almost twice the fuel economy.

Ya, my 2002 Dodge 2500 Cummins gets around 16-17MPG, but most guys I talk to with my year, make, model get 20+...I'm not sure how they do it.
Are their any kind of performance chips for the Titan that are supposed to help with fuel economy?

I just joined this forum. I have used it often and it is a great reference tool.
I own a 2005 Titan 4x4, bought it new. I have 171,000. It seems like I live in it. Overall I have been very pleased with it. I did have to replace the transmission at about 140,000. Not sure why. I don't tow anything heavy. I live in Florida, so not a lot of mountain driving. The high mileage is mostly highway miles, I am a sales rep. I would like to get better mileage. I average 14.5 combined highway and in town. I have added a leveling kit on the front, K&N air intake, Magna flow exhaust. I'm running 295 x 17's Nitto all terrain tires. Switched to an AT in hopes of increasing mileage. Not much help.I changed the OE battery to an OPTIMA red top. I will probably have to replace that in the next week. Any ideas, is there anything better or a better value? With the economy the way it is, I hesitate to spend the extra money, but it has been dependable. Thanks. |
